On 2nd October, I was invited to Ritz Carlton Residences for a Samsung event where I was introduced with some of the latest technology from Samsung as well as its new ecosystem.
Something else to look forward to, would be the Samsung Galaxy Camera. Not only is it an
Android 4.1 device with a large touch screen on one side, it's also a 21x zoom lens on the other, and networking abilities in the middle. That last point is key: one of the big advantages of smartphones is that you can do something with the photo immediately after taking it -- sharing with friends on Facebook etc.

The fascinating thing was that Samsung’s latest range
of devices is supported by a network of connections that enable
consumers to create and control content. This connected ecosystem is
made possible with AllShare - AllShare Play & AllShare
Control as well as the new AllShare Cast, and Family Story, exemplifies the key differentiators to Samsung’s convergence
strategy.
Family Story
In
addition, Samsung’s exclusive service, Family Story, allows
families to store and share content through cloud-based storage where
family members can share photos, create slide shows, post memos and
schedule events. They can access this content in and outside the home
through their smartphones, tablets, PCs and Samsung Smart TVs.
Features include:
- Share Together – From the smartphone, Smart TV or any Samsung convergence-enabled devices, consumers and their families can always share and enjoy their most memorable moments, no matter where they are. With Family Story, consumers can keep loved ones updated in real time on important events, upload photos and post messages privately with the ‘Live Chat’ feature.

Scenarios were also acted out by the "Wong Family" to help us understand more about the system. Below, we see the son, who is overseas, sending a picture of his new girlfriend to his father who is back in Singapore.

Play allows consumers
to access their favourite multimedia content from any of their
Samsung convergence-enabled devices such as the laptop, Smart TV or
tablet. Content is now free to move between devices no matter where
they are; whether in the home or outside.

- Remote Device Access – Remotely access content on the smartphone, notebook or tablet, regardless of proximity. Now consumers can enjoy videos, music, pictures and documents wherever they go.
