TANGS Celebrates 80th Anniversary With “Once Upon A Tang”

| |
Hi Huneybees,

In celebration of TANGS’ 80th Anniversary, TANGS announced the launch of a commemorative book, titled “Once Upon A Tang”. Chronicling the journey of TANGS – from Mr C.K. Tang’s decision to travel from Swatow, China, to the Singaporean shopping icon that TANGS is today – the book features untold stories about the iconic Singaporean store and its founder, irreplaceable vintage photographs and a peek into everything TANGS.

Not your average coffee table book, “Once Upon A Tang” is full of little surprises and treasured mementoes. A fully-illustrated pull-out comic book tells the imagined story of Mr C.K. Tang’s decision to leave Swatow for Singapore, a reproduction of the lace handkerchiefs sold out of the tin trunk which has played a central role in TANGS’ history, and even a copy of the original deed issued for the purchase of the land on which the flagship TANGS Orchard sits on to this very day. Each page is dedicated to a memory illustrated through anecdotes throughout the TANGS story.
“I am leaving my children the legacy of a business. But more importantly, I have told them, I am leaving them, and hopefully their children after them, a business which had been founded on honesty, fairness and integrity.” --- C.K. Tang
“Once Upon a Tang” is now available at TANGS Orchard and TANGS VivoCity, at a retail price of S$150 each.
